Advanced Studies: Huayan Buddhism

Huayan Buddhism arose in the sixth century in China with its roots in the Flower Garland (Huayan) Sutra. Huayan is relational, practical, and positive. Its emphasis on interdependence, celebration of the sensual world, social engagement, and diversity of people and practices has much to offer during this era when many folks see ever-deepening divisions. Please arrive at the first meeting with a copy of Inside the Flower Garland Sutra, available on the front porch at MZMC and online https://wisdomexperience.org/product/inside-the-flower-garland-sutra/

Suggested donation: $140

A Note About Donation-only Programming

Following the Buddhist tradition of dana, or giving, MZMC offers all of our programs on a donation basis. We offer a suggested donation amount to help people understand the average amount we hope to receive to continue to make these offerings. We encourage those with more capacity for giving to make a donation above the suggested amount to support those who need to give a smaller amount.
