This brief immersion in the traditional sesshin schedule is a good opportunity to become familiar with the forms, stay in practice, or brush up after some time away. This morning includes an orientation, zazen, kinhin (walking meditation), liturgy, a formal vegetarian breakfast using oryoki bowls (see alternative below), and one-to-one meetings with the teacher. If you are new to sesshin practice at MZMC, attendance at the Zen Forms and Etiquette class is required. Offered online and in person.

Please note that breakfast using oryoki bowls may not be able to take place, depending on current COVID protocol. If we cannot serve breakfast, the retreat may begin an hour later to allow participants to have breakfast at home. You will be sent an orientation message three days prior to the retreat to confirm details.
