Please feel welcome to join our group of women, feminine-spirited and trans participants for open discussion of dharma and feminine expression. This is intended as a safe space to build community, have discussions, and find mutual support for members and nonmembers of MZMC centering around the feminine experience. Meetings will start with a short silent meditation, check ins, then focus on a dharma topic to be determined each month. We hope that you will join us!
We decided to use the book Zen Women: Beyond Tea Ladies, Iron Maidens, and Macho Masters by Grace Schireson for a Buddhist Women's study for the next few months. It is on reserve in the library and is available to buy from the usual book store sites. I will have a couple of extra copies for people to borrow. We will be reading and discussing the first chapter, which is about 8 pages.
People can join the group at any time and do not need to have read the book. We are using it to generate discussion each month.
