Become a Member

What does it mean to be a member of MZMC?

If you find that you are meditating and attending programs at MZMC regularly, we encourage you to consider becoming a member of the sangha (community). Membership is a way to formally recognize that you are part of this community, and to affirm your support for it. If you appreciate the difference that MZMC has made in your life, please join us, and help us to maintain this supportive place of contemplation.

Members sustain the Center with a yearly financial contribution, and many also give time and energy by working in a volunteer capacity. As a member, you will have voting rights at our annual community meeting. You are also eligible to participate in the mentorship program.

How do I become a member?

It's simple! You can become a member online, or fill out a membership form available at the Center.

If you chose the online option, you may set up an automatic funds transfer from your checking or saving account or use a debit or credit card, You can make your contribution monthly, quarterly, or annually. We encourage members to consider paying with an automatic funds transfer from a checking or savings account. This maximizes your contribution by eliminating credit card fees, which can be between 3 and 5 %.

If you prefer not to use the online option, you can send your contact information and membership contribution to 3343 E. Bde Maka Ska Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55408.

How do I determine my annual pledge amount?

There is no set membership rate at MZMC. Each member determines a pledge amount based on his or her personal financial situation. When deciding how much to pledge, we often ask our members to consider donating 2% of their annual income (about one hour's pay per week). Of course, everyone's personal circumstances are different, so this is offered only as a guideline. Give what feels comfortable and right for you. We are most grateful for your support!

Thank you for considering becoming a member of MZMC; we appreciate your pledge of support, look forward to getting to know you, and welcome you to the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center community!

How do I make a change to my membership?

If you already have an automatic payment set up and would like to make a change, please contact the office [email protected].

If you have other questions or need assistance, please contact the office at [email protected].
